The duo spent approximately 20 minutes meticulously examining various premium handsets, projecting the image of discerning customers. However, investigators reveal that this lengthy interaction was merely a smokescreen for a calculated "switch" maneuver. While distracted by the array of luxury devices, the officers managed to swap a brand-new iPhone 15 Pro Max, valued at approximately ₹1.62 lakh, with an older, significantly less valuable iPhone 13 Pro.
The deception was short-lived. The store’s proprietor, Shivam, grew suspicious shortly after the officers departed and reviewed the shop’s CCTV footage. The digital trail left no room for ambiguity, clearly capturing the moment the high-end device was substituted.
